About Me

On January 1, 2020, I officially retired from “the corporate job” and began a new chapter in my quilting journey.  Over the past 16 years I have dabbled in quilt design and wholesaled my patterns in Canada and the U.S.  I have also been fortunate to have a few quilts featured in a handful of quilting magazines; participated in numerous trunk shows and I have especially enjoyed teaching and helping coordinate quilt workshops.

I am very fortunate to have had my husband build me my very own cozy quilt studio in the backyard in 2015 and this is where the magic happens - fabrics are housed here, ideas take flight and patterns take shape.

Located in the scenic horseshoe valley in Wawanesa, Manitoba, I have the unique experience of being surrounded by local quilt shops BUT I found that it was difficult to find the genre of fabrics that appeals to me.  Even searching online proved challenging to find Canadian shops that carried a good selection of Traditional, Primitive, Reproduction tones and prints.  Wool was even more challenging to find.  This is how QuiltBitz came to be!

Just because the products I carry have an aged, traditional flair, doesn't mean they're old fashioned!  I carefully select the newest releases that reflect this style of quilting and hope that these will inspire your next creation.  As my shop evolves there may even be some cottage, vintage, homespun collections added as well as more bundles, kits and patterns.  This is a work in progress and I value your comments and input as we move along.

As a long time quilter I am passionate about sharing my love of quilting and spreading inspiration and knowledge to everyone that wants to learn. I also love learning from others and look forward to a wonderful journey with you!
